Once Upon a Fell campsite in Carnforth, Cumbria

About Once Upon a Fell

Once Upon A Fell is an eco-responsible campsite offering pitches with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside and immediate access to footpaths and bridleways.

Located in between the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales, adjacent to Hutton Roof Crags SSSI and Farleton Knott SSSI, the campsite is perfectly situated for walking, mountain biking, climbing, nature spotting and most importantly, relaxing. The campsite is well set up for families, small groups and those looking for privacy and tranquility.

Whether you're looking for a private camping field with heaps of space to roam, or a glamping experience in a bell tent or cosy Arctic cabin, Once Upon A Fell has something for everyone. A great site for outdoor-enthusiasts who are looking for a secluded and environmentally-friendly camping or glamping experience.

None of the pitches are situated next to another pitch or unit. They are all completely private, set in their own fields. That's what makes holidays truly unique at Once Upon a Fell? Total privacy with beautiful views all around.

Worth noting

  • Dog friendly for most of the year but the site is closed for most of March and April due to lambing time. The site has a car park and a drop off point so pitches can be car free.
