Situated between the villages of Rattlesden and Felsham, this small, friendly, family run campsite is an ideal spot for those who like walking or cycling, or just to simply relax. There are numerous country walks along local lanes and footpaths; also the perfect place to bring your dog. Two local pubs can be found in Rattlesden which is about a mile from the campsite.
You might be lucky enough to see a variety of wildlife, from barn owls, birds of prey, geese and kingfishers, to deer, foxes, badgers and an abundance of rabbits and hares.
Barn Owl Camping is a good base for getting out and about around East Anglia. The coast, Cambridge and Norwich can all be reached within an hour. Medieval Lavenham, famed for its Guildhalls, 15th-century church and half-timbered medieval cottages, along with Long Melford (Kentwell Hall) and the town of Sudbury are only a 20 minute drive away.
Bury St Edmunds, a picturesque, thriving market town can also be reached within 20 minutes, also has architecture aplenty, including the ruins of an abbey with formal gardens and an aviary in its surrounds. This town boasts a great collection of venues for eating, drinking, shopping and relaxing, making it a great place to visit.
There are also plenty of routes for keen cyclists from exploring the landscapes of Great Finborough and RAF Rattlesden, to heading out to Drinkstone Windmills and the lovely village of Woolpit.
