Set on the Devon, Cornwall border, Brackenwood is a 7.5 acre re-wilding project with a stunning lake. With wildflower meadows (in season) and a plethora of wildlife, this really is a natural paradise.
You may choose to stay in Hedgehog Hideaway, a cozy hut equipped with a full-sized double bed, wood burner, a fire pit, an outdoor heated shower and a composting toilet. Overlooking the picturesque lake and amidst a natural wildflower meadow, Hedgehog Hideaway offers an idyllic glamping retreat. However, if you are a more traditional camper, in Jen's Wildflower Meadow we have three spacious pitches for you to pitch your tent. Alternatively, you may like to book our four person, pre-pitched tent, with inflated mattresses (bring your own bedding), kitchen cook-set and seating, in a private copse area - all you have to do is turn up!
Within our camping meadow you'll find a mains powered hot shower, compost loo, and covered washing up area. Each tent pitch has its own campfire and tarp shelter. We like to think that we have thought of everything, so that you don't have to. Whichever you choose, you will enjoy the relaxing view of the lake and the surrounding countryside - not a pylon in sight.
Brackenwood is home to a number of rescue animals. We have pygmy goats, plus lots of ex-commercial ducks and hens which you're welcome to meet.
