Woodfrys Farm Campsite

Woodfrys Farm is a 25 acre smallholding, tucked in the north Dorset countryside just outside Shaftesbury. Owners Liam & Hannah, farm rare breed cattle and pigs with nature-friendly farming methods. The heart of the farm is the stunning water meadow, where water and wildlife meet. Camping is tucked between the lake and a chalk stream, or up on a bank with a stunning view over the lake. With just seven pitches and one Shepherd's Hut, this family and dog friendly site is a great place to escape it all. Paddling in the stream, fishing, walking around the lake or just sitting and taking it all in is all on the cards here.

Dark skies and campfires: The camping pitches are large in size and are cut into the meadow grass with plenty of space to spread out. Three are suitable for campervans. The Shepherd's Hut is a vintage hut with its own large field kitchen and private facilities. Situated in the Cranborne Chase AONB, internationally renowned for its dark skies, starry nights and good campfires are part of the daily ritual here. The valley comes alive at night, with bats swooping over the lake and the call of the tawny owl to help you reconnect to nature.

Walk or drive - it's all in easy reach: You can walk or cycle from the farm, or within a short drive you can visit stunning countryside, hill forts and market towns. Or take a day trip to the Dorset coast and visit some of the finest beaches of the Jurassic Coast.

Facilities: Compost toilets, hot showers and a hot washing up station with a wild-Woodfrys touch. Each pitch comes with a fire pit and a picnic table. Sustainably harvested wood from the farm, with kindling and lightings available to purchase. Car free environment (other than set up and take down.) New for 2023, Woodfrys Farm-reared meat for your BBQ, as well as eggs and seasonal veg available.
