About Nantgwyn Camping

Nantgwynfynydd is a small sheep farm near Aberaeron on the west coast of Wales. The name Nantgwynfynydd means 'pure mountain stream' named after the stream that rises on the farm and runs through Oakford, eventually joining the sea a few miles down the coast. It is a peaceful place with 10 acres of wild habitat and woodland, views of the farming countryside, the village of Oakford and in the distance, the sea. It is open for tent only camping during the summer.

We offer a natural camping experience as far as we can. Cars remain in the yard and your camping gear is transported to your chosen pitch. Fire bowls are provided for campfires - you can collect fallen wood or buy logs and kindling. There is a well-water standpipe in each field and mains drinking water in the farmyard.

There are two family shower rooms with WC's in the farm yard. Washing up facilities are available in the old dairy. Well-behaved dogs are welcome. There are sheep on the farm and so close control must be exercised and all mess cleared up. We do not have specific accommodation for disabled campers but contact us and we will help if we can. We can provide firewood and woodchip kindling - and supply local walk guides and wildlife charts if you're heading out and about the local countryside. If there are any items you would like us to provide, please ask.

Worth noting

  • Free range eggs from local farms and a daily delivery of milk can be ordered, just let us know beforehand. Seasonal vegetables and fruit from the garden as available.
