Alltimate View

The site takes pride in its unique location within the Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park. Aptly named 'The Alltimate View', it offers expansive views across the Powys hills and the River Usk. Despite its tranquil, rural setting, the site is easily accessible, just a two-minute drive from the A40.

The few simple camping pitches are set on a small farm located between the county town of Brecon and the picturesque town of Crickhowell, both less than a 15-minute drive away. These towns are havens for cafés, shops, and pubs.

Campervans are generally parked on gravel near the homestead, while tents are pitched in a separate, wooded field, all enjoying stunning views and unspoilt wildlife. Fire pits are available for hire and all guests are welcome to spend their evenings roasting marshmallows and gazing up at some of the UK's clearest night skies.

An eco-friendly shower and toilet block, housed in a converted horse box, serves the camping field, aligning with our commitment to minimal environmental impact.

In the yard, you'll find a modern electric shower, toilet, charging facilities, and a communal fridge and freezer for keeping your food fresh. Barbecue supplies can be picked up from the nearby farm shop, or you can skip self-catering altogether and head to the canal-side pubs in Talybont-on-Usk, the local village just two miles from the site.

The farm is home to a variety of animals, including the owners' cheeky peacocks, chickens, and ducks, along with rare-breed Ryeland sheep, Shetland ponies, and pedigree Hereford cows.

For a burst of activity in the invigorating Brecon Beacons air, head to Llangorse Multi Activity Climbing Centre, just a 10-minute drive away, or enjoy pony trekking on the heather-clad foothills. Black Mountain Activities is another great option for water sports, offering canoeing and gorge walking.

The site's unique advantage is its location, with numerous walks and public footpaths leading directly from the pitches to Llangorse Lake, Talybont village and reservoir, as well as various routes to the Beacons and their peaks.

For a taste of local history, visit Tretower Court and Castle, a 10-minute drive away, where you can explore a monumental Norman tower and medieval mansion, once frequented by Welsh bards. If bookshop browsing appeals, Hay-on-Wye is a half-hour drive, while a 40-minute drive takes you to the area's famous waterfalls, showcaves, and the Big Pit National Coal Museum.
